Korn III: Remember Who You Are

Korn is back with its latest studio album, same Korn sound, same Korn feel. A very good listen if I must say so myself. People can't really go wrong with any of the Recommended tracks. Overall, most long time fans of Korn would easily get into this, but otherwise it's a good listen altogether. 

For fans of System of A Down, Slipknot, Mudvayne , and Drowning Pool, you would definitely like this CD. It's not the usual Korn sound, but it rivals the sound of old. This album has a slightly altered band lineup from when they started out in the early 90's, but has a majority of the original lineup. It's one of their better albums in my personal opinion.

Sage Francis gets soft and goes country rap.

The new Sage Francis album entitile "life" is not your typical Sage Francis album. However, it is still screams his synical lyrical style  that urges people to see things from a different perspective namely his. The album isn't the high intesity album with intricate and fat beats that people would expect from listening to album such as "a Healthy distrust." Instead, the Sage goes with the more melodic and melow sounds of a country band to which he choice to rap to.

My Favorite radio friendly songs on this album are tracks 1, 2, 9, 10 and 12. 

My absolute favorite song is "little houdini" which is track 1 because its a true story about a person on the run from the law which just screams folk lore.

 

My Favorite non radio friendly songs on this album are tracks 5 and 7 which might be the second and third best songs on the album with the best song being track 1.

New and notable music

Over the last couple weeks, during the break between Winter 2010 and Summer 2010, I listened to quite a few new cd's and there are a couple that I would like to highlight.

First is the new "Dead Weather" album which is entitled "Sea of Cowards". Now to me, this album is very exciting to listen to. Even though, It has a evil almost seance like sound to it. The Guitar licks are straight out of Jack White's bag of tricks; although, he doesn't play guitar on this album at all. White leaves the guitar playing up to Dean Fertita of the Queens of the Stone age.

The production on this album is crazy with lots of stereo imaging tricks being utilized, In addition, to tons of really cool sounding effects and even though this album is dark and sinister compared to previous White Stripes releases and Jack White's other bands I think this album is going to be the album that establishes the Dead Weather as a important mainstay in rock music and will only further rumors that the White Stripes and the Raconteurs are no longer a priority to Mr. White (even though I really hope that is not true). the dead weather's new album entitled Sea of Cowards.

Favorite tracks on this album are  1,3, 4, 7 10 and 11. So Far 1 and 7 are my two very favorite tracks on the album with songs 3 and 11 being right behind them.

Now to Unkle.... Well, if you like morcheba and you like Depeche mode or nine inch nails or stuff like that you will like their album "Where did the night fall". Its a Goth industrial adventure or sexy vocals and seductive beats. This album is worth requesting on Radio X.

Now the last album that I want to talk about is by a Group Called "FACTOR". Factor is a hip hop group who raps over roots music like blue grass, 1930's folk rock, and country samples. I dig this album a bunch and highly recommend it for any of you alternative hip hop heads out there. This is another album I would like to urge people to check out and request on Radio X cause its seriously good.
